MS Word: It has a party trick!
Now we’re all familiar with Microsoft Word. It’s the alternative to iWork, is slower and has cooler icons than the windows version. I know people that use the MS Office suite over iWork, I know people who use iWork and won’t touch MS Office. Personally, I’ve always preferred iWork.
Recently, however, I’ve been forced to use a netbook running Windows. Being one to go open minded into such situations I played around with some Windows software and found one program that I fell in love with: Microsoft Office OneNote. If you haven’t heard of it, I encourage you to have a look. This brief encounter with this piece of software got me thinking: Do we have OneNote for Mac?

Keeping Mac Awesome – Applications
How many applications do you have on your mac? 10? 20? 50? Chances are there’ll be quite a few, and now that you made your new, smaller, awesome dock, you’ll be giving your applications stack some heavy use in accessing all of your apps that got kicked off the dock.
When you open your applications stack (or folder if you prefer) what do you see? Chances are you see a long list of applications. Daunting isn’t it! ”I know that app is in here somewhere but where?”. This is a familiar question. For all of the time that you spend scrolling up and down that stack list, you’re loosing valuable time from your workflow.

Sadly, as we use our Macs, the loose this basic feature that makes the OS awesome. Sure, it’s still brilliant, and a damn sight better than windows! But it’s no longer awesome.
Over the couse of this week I am going to look at how to return Mac OS X to it’s awesomeness. I was going to call this tutorial set Rationalising your Mac, but in the end thought that was a bit plain!
