Firetask vs. Things – Which is best?
Apps like Things and Firetask are essential to any workflow. It means that we can all quickly, and efficiently, see what we need to do, when we need to do it by and how much it needs to be prioritised. Without Apps like this I know that I would be lost, and I know that many other people would also be lost, not knowing what needs to be done.
Today I am going to look at two of these Apps, the all-popular Things which I will be comparing to the relatively new App, Firetask. It will start with a video comparing the two Desktop Apps, followed by a written part looking at the iPhone counterparts.

Recharge Your MacBook with Watts
So, their you all were thinking that you are bullet-proof, sat their on your Mac, with the most robust operating system on the market, but think again. Your fine on your desktop Mac, but what about those of you who own a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air?
Over time your battery will loose it’s charge, and if you don’t calibrate it properly it may not even last for half of the 1,000 cycles Apple claim a modern Mac battery could handle. Maybe not even a third of that.
But, it’s such a chore – isn’t it? Having to think about when to un-plug you MacBook, when to plug it in, when you can un-plug it again. Why is it just… easier? Introducing Watts – “The calibration tool for your Mac battery”.
Before coming across this App, I wasn’t even aware that these tools were in existence. In fact, I had never even considered looking for an app that is capable of doing this. What Watts does is it take the effort – the chore – out of re-calibrating your Mac’s battery, on a schedule that fits you. If you out during the day, then it can be done then or if you prefer, why not do it over night while you are asleep?

Zero Click Sharing with Cloud
When it comes to quickly sharing a photo, there are several options you have. You can open up an IM window and send the file to your contact that way… all be it very slowly.
You can open up your favourite twitter client, upload your photo there, which involves finding the file and dragging it in.
Or, with Cloud, you could just let the application do all the hard work for you!

Spring Cleaning with Clean My Mac

CleanMyMac
Ok, so maybe it is a little late for spring cleaning, but that’s not the point. Does it have to be spring to clean your Mac out? I don’t think so.
Cleaning you Mac is the best way to keep it’s performance as close to new as possible. No, I don’t mean with some screen-cleaner and a cloth. I mean digitally cleaning it out. There are many utilities out their to do just this, but I though I would focus on one in particular today. CleanMyMac.
CleanMyMac is a utility with a reputation. You don’t have to own a Mac for long to here about it, so I thought it’s about time we looked at it here on AppFlow.
CleanMyMac is a simple and easy to use utility for cleaning out those dusty corners of your Mac for you. It looks through things such as the Caches and removes those that are no longer required, gaining you more disk space and higher performance.

One Click Window Management with Cinch
Nothings perfect. And that includes OS X. It truly dominates Windows 7 with it’s features and ease-of-use, as I am sure anyone reading this will agree. After all, we would pay for a Mac otherwise, would we?
Call me picky, but their is one small area where Microsoft have trumped the OS X window management. I believe in Windows 7 they call it “Snapping”. On a Mac, we can now call this a “Cinch”.
