MagicPrefs has already been covered in detail on my previous post on the Magic Mouse, but, It’s got a couple of neat new features!
If you have a twitter account, the chances are you own a twitter desktop client. Over the past six months, we’ve had a look at Tweetie, Echofon and Tweetdeck. (although these are a few of many)
All of these twitter clients share one distinct downfall, however: You must switch to them to tweet.
The new version of MagicPrefs gives you several new features to assign to gestures – two of which are ‘Tweet’ and ‘Read Tweets’.
Tweeting uses a really simple window on your primary display with the rest of the display faded to grey.
Reading tweets also uses an extremely basic reader, but it does cycle through your tweets in a large scale view on the left which is nice.
Overall, MagicPrefs seems to have two major advantages over traditional desktop clients.
- It’s free
- You can activate it from anywhere, using a simple gesture on the Magic Mouse.
