I've tested most of the Mac Twitter clients. I started with Tweetie, moved to TweetDeck and switched to Echofon a couple of days ago. Echofon Mac feels like an app designed by a Twitter user rather than a software engineer who decided to leverage Twitter's popularity. An added bonus was that I've been able to remove Adobe Air from my system. @FrankEves

I'm another Echofon lover. I use it on my Mac and on my iPhone - the read/unread synchronisation between both is a killer feature. Such a well thought out interface, too.

I did notice the "Full release & pricing" note. Hopefully it will be not too expensive. I was a tweetdeck-er until I found it when looking for other apps to review. I now love it and it's the only twitter client I use!

I doubt Echofon will stay free for long, as the download page says it is a preview release and "full release & pricing will be announced soon".

Regardless, I love both this app and Echofon Pro on the iPhone and I will buy the desktop version once it is fully released. I used to use the Firefox extension exclusively, back when it was Twitterfox. A lot of people flocked away from the extension (and the iPhone app too) mainly because of the name change. I've never had a better experience with Twitter before in my entire life, and I have tried so many other Twitter clients. All of my friends are die-hard Tweetdeckers, but Echofon is my one and only.

I'm using Echofon on my mac (at work). It's really a brilliant tool. I wish they make windows version soon. It's really needed
